Seems like all my posts are about work. That seems to be all I do. My daughter is growing. She just had her largest dirty diaper ever. It was overflowing out of the back and up the back. Sorry for the gory details. Work keeps my feet hurting but my tummy full. I am thankful for a job and a place to pastor.

Today is my day off. I called my nephew Max and wished him a happy birthday. He's three. I went swimming in our apt. pool. I went and spent over a hundred dollars at Sams and wal-mart for this WEEK's groceries. Amanda just anounced that her friend from Japan just became a Christian.

Speaking of moms, my mother woke up around 1 a.m. and drove to hattiesbug to be here for my wife. I was leaving to preach around 9:15. She got to hattiesburg around 6 and walked on the Long Leaf Trace for 70+ minutes. She stayed with my wife until I got home. Then, she left for New Orleans; where she will stay until next Sunday. I go back to work at Sears Tuesday. My mom is going to drive in to stay with my wife while I am at work. Grandmothers will do almost anything for their grandbabies.

Tuesday, I go back to work. Sears is so gracious to let me take three or four months off for school and to have a baby. Going back to work might be a break. I am on twenty-four hour call. My wife had a c-section. It sounds routein, but it is major surgery. My mom's instructions, "wait on her hand and foot." I enjoy it most of the time. My wife has gone through so much for our daughter. Mother's day should be celebrated every day. Moms are wonderful people. I never thought about my mom being in so much pain and putting up with so much to raise me. Thank you Mom. Thank you Jodie. Thank you all mothers.

I am glad to be in my own environment. Jodie, Allie, and I are home!!! Jodie is recovering from her surgery (C-section). Allie sleeps, eats, and well, you know. I am as sleepy as can be (I am 6'1'' tall and the couch was 5'9'' long).

Goin to the Hospital

YAY! We are on our way! We check in at 8:30 pm. Jodie will be given a shot or a pill to begin dialation. Tomorrow morning she will be induced. If Allie is stubborn, Jodie will be given another dose. The third time is the charm, but if not C-section.

We plan to take plenty of entertainment (computer, DVDs, cards, music, and food). Many things are necessary to keep a man's mind off of what is about to take place. My wife will be changed to say the least, but the end product will be amazing. Children are truly a gift from the Lord and I cannot wait. I am so excited. I am like a kid trying to keep myself from wetting my pants.

For the rest of my life, I want to raise money. It is my inspiration. In the forth grade, I was in the newspaper for raising the most money in my class for cancer research. Why? My grandfather died of cancer. Today, my goal is to raise money for Missions. Why? People are dieing without Christ. Seventy-seven people gave ten dollars and provided a church for an island that had none. The mission is real. The money is worth something. Most people give without ever seeing the results. I hope to help people experience the results of giving first hand.

Today, I have done a bunch of nothing. I woke up around six or seven. I am so bored. I can't wait for Allie Grace to get here. Amanda has come to use the internet and sleep in our timpurpedic-like bed. She is also trying to walk the baby out of Jodie. That sounds funny. Odly enough, Amanda went walking without Jodie (b/c she was asleep), and I walked around several stores (treesntrends, Walmart, Hudsons, and Apple's Dollar Store) with her. We had a good time. Wendesday is a wonderful day of the week.

I am a little leary of posting. Maggie and Addie got into it over my post. At first, I was honered because of all the controversy. I was then saddened that feelings were hurt. I regret being the cause of the misunderstanding that became the straw that broke the Maggie-blog's back.

On a lighter note. I have received a little news from the Philippines. Nathaniel has gone to finalize the sale of the house. He has ordered nepa leaves for the roof and a concrete floor will be added to the back of the house for the church floor. Please remember this work in Onisan.

Nathaniel Villafuerte is a Philippino church planter. He has started many churches over the years and runs a small seminary. The graduates are sent to islands were a new work is turned into a church. This is not a profitable business. US money goes a long way in the Philippines. $400 to buy a church building. Nathaniel also has seminary expenses. His most urgent need is a boat (his mode of transportation to start new works and support new churches.) I usually ask for $10 and prayers for those who are interested. If you want to give, send me a check and I will give every cent to Nathaniel. He is not an American in the Philippines. He does not have the resources we do. I want him to have access to all the money he needs to do the work God has called him to.

Two years ago, I started taking up a collection to build a church in the Philippines. I served as a summer missionary there. My sponsor, Nathaniel Villafuerte, wrote me an e-mail this morning. He said they had done a VBS and followup with 300+ children. He asked me to pray that $400 would come so he could buy a house to serve as the church and parsonage. To date, I have collected $700+. I can't wait till the house is bought. I hope he sends pictures. I will post them if he does. I am so excited for this work. Please pray for the island, Onisan, that God will greatly impact the hearts of those people.

Post Script: if anyone wants to donate (the usual $10) I am requesting that a plaque be put up with all the names of people who have donated. There have been 70+ so far. The catch is, you have to pray for the work there.

Hello everyone! Tomorrow, May 6th, is my birthday! I am excited. My birthday is always a big deal to me. I like having parties and getting together with friends. I have to get my license renewed. I turn 22 tomorrow. I will most likely be working on projects to complete my Rome class all day. I hope to watch movies next week. What? School is drawing to a close. Last week I read a 500+ page book, Angels and Demons, for class. This week I have to read a 400+ page book, Innocense Abroad. I turned in a book review on A&D and submitted my timesheet for Service Practicum (39 1/2 hours.) Before May 6th (my birthday), I have to read 10 archeological articles, finish IA, and rewrite my Rome journal. The good news is; I don't have to take any finals after the 6th. I have a month to prepare for/take care of my little girl. In June, I hope to go back to work (it will be a release from all the work I'm doing).

What? My little girl can now proclaim, "I have a name!" I was riding my motorcycle yesterday when the heavenly Father impressed upon me this name. I talked to my wife and asked her if she liked the name, and she said she had thought of the name earlier that day. It was settled. Our little girl will be named Allie Grace Marsh. What?- Today, I woke up at Lake Tiak O'khata in Louisville, MS. I was at a young minister's conference. I left after lunch and drove back (three hours) to Hattiesburg to a conference featuring the Superchicks and Josh McDowell. I want his book, "Evidence That Demands a Verdict, Vol II." I worked security at the concert and stood in front of the speakers. Even with earplugs it was deafening. I miss my wife. She has gone to Southaven for a baby shower and will not return untill Monday night. Fortunately she will return with lovely gifts for our little girl. I am excited and cannot wait for her arival. Pray for me, that I will be a great father. Oh yeah, Don't forget that time changes tonight.

Easter Sunday from a young pastor's point of view

Yesterday was Easter Sunday. Many people like to dress up, hunt eggs, and attend their one-church-service a year. The congregation of Leaf River Baptist Church doubled. Most of the visitors were from out of town and possibly attend other churches on a regular basis. Why can't people in the area show up for more than one service a year? I suppose it is my fault for lack of visitation. The church pays me for Sunday and does not require me to come in and uphold regular pastorial duties. They call the position "interim" and remain complacent. My excuse has been thirty miles and obligations to school. If i disciplined myself, I could drive up there, visit, and come home to work on school every day. I preach the Word on Sundays and hope the people are growing. Some have joined the church since I have been there; some have gone. On Easter Sunday I can always expect a large crowd.

Personally, I eat too much on Saturday night. My wife and I usually go out on a date, and I refuse to turn away my food (and her leftovers). When I ask for a to-go box, I end up eating dessert at home. This gluttany leads to an upset stomach on Sunday morning. (tmi) After the service, the Rogers family ask us over for dinner. We talked for a long while and ate till our pants burst; gluttany is a sin that often accompanies Christian hollidays. Dear Lord forgive me for eating too much and help me develope more self control.

Today was fun. I hid eggs, blew bubbles, ate pizza, watched Robots, and rode my motercycle. My goal in this blog is to keep track of my daughter's life. My wife is seven months (give or take a week) pregnant. Anyone who attempts to read this blog must agree to disregard misssspellings. If you are reading this, you probably know me. I have little contact with old friends and desire to remedy this situation. A blog is the solution. I am too far away, and feel too uncomfortable talking to guys on the phone to keep in touch.
